The Gnome Collection
Every gnome is sewn and assembled by hand — and every one has a name, a home somewhere in Colorado, and a story all its own. Here are a few of the little folk.
Loveland Foothills
A wandering gnome from the foothills around Loveland, Clover never stays in one garden for long. He carries a four-leaf clover that’s brought him nothing but good luck and slightly soggy boots from snowmelt creeks running down off the Front Range.
Aspen Groves above Telluride
From the aspen groves above Telluride, Pippin spends his days collecting morning dewdrops in acorn cups. He believes every dewdrop holds a tiny wish and returns each one to a wildflower at dusk, just as the San Juan peaks turn gold.
Strawberry Patch near Palisade
Born in a sun-drenched strawberry patch outside Palisade, Marigold is the cheeriest gnome on the Western Slope. She knits tiny sweaters for cold bumblebees and always smells faintly of peach jam.
Ponderosa Pines near Colorado Springs
From the ponderosa pines of the Front Range near Colorado Springs, Hazel is the village storyteller. She gathers fireflies each evening to tell tales of brave marmots and noble pikas in the shadow of Pikes Peak.
Crested Butte Meadows
A shy little gnome who lives in a hollow log by a brook in the Crested Butte wildflower meadows, Wren befriends every bird that passes through. He sings beautifully when he thinks no one is listening, especially during summer bloom.
High Desert Mesas near Durango
From the high desert mesas near Durango, Poppy is bold, bright, and a little mischievous. She races horned toads for fun and has won exactly zero times, which never dampens her spirit.
San Luis Valley
Hailing from a cozy toadstool village in the San Luis Valley after the monsoon rains, Barnaby is the valley’s beloved baker. His potato-and-blackberry tarts are famous, and he always leaves a slice out for hungry kangaroo rats.
Animas River, Southern Mountains
The youngest of the bunch, Fern comes from the mossy banks along the Animas River near the southern mountains. She collects shiny pebbles, fool’s gold, and the occasional lost button, certain they’ll all come in handy someday.
